What is a time stamp and how does it work?
A time stamp is an important element of eSigning which enables organizations to keep track of when exactly a document was signed or created.
There are different types of timestamps, as there are different types of signatures. Each placed signature contains a timestamp that is reliant on the computer’s (or mobile device’s) set time. Our certificate used to sign PDF documents might optionally include a time stamp URL. Adobe (and other supporting applications) can then use the URL to gain access to our RFC 3161 trusted clock.
For increased security and reliability, Circularo offers the use of Trusted and Certified Timestamps, which are eIDAS certified and compliant, and provide a court-admissible time record in accordance with stringent requirements,.
