What is an electronic seal?

An electronic seal is the equivalent of an electronic signature for legal entities. An electronic signature is meant for individuals, whereas a seal is meant for legal persons or entities, where multiple individuals within the entity can use the same seal.

The eIDAS EU regulation introduced electronic seals as a solution for legal entities, allowing them to protect the authenticity and integrity of electronic documents and data.

An electronic seal is based on the same technology as the electronic signature and can also be Advanced or Qualified.
