What is KYC verification?

KYC verification is an umbrella term that contains several ways of verification that the sender can choose from when sending a document to external recipients. All of them are covered by our integration with Identomat, who meets ISO/IEC 30107-3 standards and has passed the iBeta Level 2 PAD compliance test.

All of these forms can be combined and used together.

Types of verification

ID verification

This option requires you to scan both the front and back side of an identification document, such as national ID, passport, or driver’s license. The system checks the authenticity and validity of the document before proceeding.

Selfie with ID check

This option scans the front side of an ID card at the same time as it scans the face of the person holding the document and compares the two, to see how similar they are. If the face on the ID card and of the live person do not match, the verification will not be successful.

Liveness check

This option is concerned whether the person trying to access the document is a real live person, and not some type of a bot, or a pre-recorded video. The liveness check requires the person to look into the camera with a neutral face, then smile when prompted and return back to neutral face. How many seconds are between each actions is random, which ensures a video cannot be used, as you never know when exactly the prompts will appear.
